Vitamin D is the sunshine vitamin that has been produced on this earth for more than 500 million years. During exposure to sunlight 7-dehydrocholesterol in the skin absorbs UV B radiation and is converted to previtamin D3 which in turn isomerizes into vitamin D3

When the sun's ultraviolet rays touch the skin, they 
convert the precursor to a molecule called vitamin D3, which then follows a metabolic pathway through the liver and finally to the kidneys, where it's converted into a molecule called calcitriol.


💥Other Sources of Vitamin D

Along with supplements, you can get vitamin D from fortified foods, such as milk and orange juice, as well as from eating fish such as salmon, tuna, sardines, and mackerel. Beef, shitake mushrooms, egg yolks, and fortified cereals are also good sources.

Too much unprotected exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause skin damage, eye damage, immune system suppression, and skin cancer. Even people in their twenties can develop skin cancer.
