Historically shared a Good Relationship, strengthened by Common Values, Nato, etc

The historical relationship between Europe and the USA is complex, marked by both collaboration and conflict, spanning from early European colonization to modern-day alliances and trade.

The two parties have historically shared a good relationship strengthened by a military cooperation within NATO, cooperation on trade, and their common values. This relationship has been severed since the beginning of 2025 with the reelection of Donald Trump as US President

Under Trump’s past presidency, the US has withdrawn from key international agreements from the Paris Agreement to the Iran Nuclear Deal, and pursued trade policies that often put the EU at odds with its historical ally. The unpredictability of US foreign policy highlighted Europe's vulnerability to external power shifts.

During the Age of Discovery, a large scale colonization of the Americas, involving a number of European countries, took place primarily between the late 15th century and the early 19th century.

The United States has formal diplomatic relations with most nations. This includes all United Nations members and observer states other than Bhutan, Iran, North Korea and Syria, and the UN observer Territory of Palestine. Additionally, the U.S. has diplomatic relations with Kosovo and the European Union.

Freedom, Equality and Justice are the big three core values that Americans share. We have shared these values since America's founding. This doesn't mean that these values were always there for everyone.
