Although there is a quest towards Sameness, ultimately one’s identity is emergent from our Ability to Separate Ourselves from the groupings we previously merged within – be they our family group, peers at school, or the modality of training we chose when becoming a counsellor.

This belies the interesting and deeper meaning of difference. As the French philosopher Deleuze recognized, identity is emergent out of difference. He saw that, although there is a quest towards Sameness, ultimately one’s identity is emergent from our ability to separate ourselves from the groupings we previously merged within.

It is always part of our humanity to be more inclusive. Acknowledging others cultural difference, etc. Everyone ishould be valued & respected, regardless of their background or identity.

Special Qualiry that makes someone or something stand out, such as an amazing talent. An indispensable element or quality that makes someone or something distinctive, appealing, or effective. A circumstance, quality, or person that has a strong but unpredictable influence.

You don’t have to be the same as someone to like him or her. In fact, Sameness can’t be the fundamental basis for your relationship. A friendship "based on Sameness" is a friendship of convenience. A friendship of mutual admiration and loyalty and regard is a true friendship.

Wisdom is the ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight.
